I called
DisneyStore.com on your behalf, and was informed by a Cast Member that there are no exchanges of
MagicBands purchased at DisneyStore.com, even if that
MagicBand has not been linked to a
My Disney Experience account.
There are so many beautiful MagicBands available both online and throughout Walt Disney World; I love my Elsa MagicBand, but my head is frequently turned by other, equally fun bands, too. Keep in mind that guests may have multiple MagicBands associated with their accounts, so if your little one sees another MagicBand that she loves, you may buy it and associate that with her park ticket as well as the one you purchased from DisneyStore.com.
When my two were little, we'd set aside a fixed amount of money for each one to purchase a toy/souvenir during our trips to Walt Disney World (usually Christmas or birthday money they were given by grandparents for this purpose). If either one asked about purchasing any item, we would simply tell them that it's their decision, adding up the total of that purchase and letting them know how much they would have remaining should they decide to buy that item. Most often, they would make the choice that made them happy, either deciding they'd rather wait to find something they'd like better, or knowing that this is something they'd really like to have during our stay. Win-win, and a little budgeting life lesson, to boot!
