Heading to WDW (Port Orleans Riverside) for the Wine and Dine races. We will be arriving on Halloween. Are there any fun Halloween activities for the kids that do not require a trip to the not so scary party? Any trick or treating at the resorts?

Greetings, Whitney, and welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel. I'll be your Ghost Host as we explore some Halloween happenings at the Walt Disney World Resort. Join me...if you dare.

Halloween brings the spooky fun of Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party to Magic Kingdom Park, where you can have a hauntingly good time with your young ghouls and ghosts. But the Cast Members of Walt Disney World surely have a few more tricks up their sleeves.

I have consulted Madam Leota's crystal ball and found that some Walt Disney World Resort hotels do indeed have special Halloween-themed events. While the future is hazy, I can report that in the past, Disney's Port Orleans Resort - Riverside has hosted some Halloween arts and crafts, a dance party, and treat stations. Also, the daily pool party has taken on a Halloween theme, while the nightly campfire is always a fun fall treat.

Although these activities have been offered in the past, it's a bit too soon to know if the vision will come to pass this year, since the Resort hotels all have different recreation schedules. I'm sure if you check with your Resort hotel shortly before your arrival, they'll have more info.

Plus, there are lots of other fun fall festivities all around Walt Disney World for you to discover. Keep an eye on the Disney Parks Blog for any Halloween news still to come!

I hope your family has a spook-tacular Halloween at the Walt Disney World Resort, Whitney. Please come see us again if you have any more questions. But beware - a ghost may follow you home!

    Keep Disney Dreaming,

Meet the Panelist: Kathy, Florida

I've lived my whole life just an hour's drive from Walt Disney World, so I've been a regular visitor for as long as I can remember. Even after all these years and so many visits, I love that there's still so much to discover! Now that I'm a mom myself, seeing my favorite place through my son's eyes has given me a whole new perspective that I enjoy sharing with other parents of young children. Learn More About Kathy
