We are heading to WDW 9/20 - 9/27 and had planned to spend Fri. 9/26 at Epcot before we knew it was the 1st day of the Wine & Food Fest. Should we worry about the crowds? LOVE the panel! It has helped me tremendously!!

We were at Epcot on the first day of the Food and Wine Festival last year.  I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but in all honesty, yes, the crowds were pretty thick there that day.  The lines at the food stands that were set up all around the World Showcase were quite long.  So long that because we had our four children with us, I couldn't justify waiting.  It wasn't an ideal situation.

That said, I chose to go to Epcot that day because it was the only opportunity we had to attend the Food and Wine Festival during our trip.  I did manage to sneak away from the family a time or two to purchase a few different glasses of wine.

If you are traveling with children, I would avoid going to Epcot that day if possible.  If it is your only chance to visit the Festival though, and you have your heart set on it, go and have fun.  Be prepared for the long lines you'll likely face.  I always find that if you go in knowing what to expect it's easier to accept.  Good luck and happy tasting!

Given your inclination to plan a magical trip, I can already tell we have a lot in common. I'm Darcie, and my friends would be the first to tell you that Disney trip planning (especially dining!) is my love language. Of course, the vacations my family enjoys today look much different than they did when our kids were little, but while some of our favorite activities have evolved, Disney destinations still top our travel wish lists. Let's work together to plan a downright dreamy vacation for your family! Learn More About Darcie
