Heading to WDW on 11/25. Planned dinner at T-Rex, no park that day. Is there stuff to do in DD with 6, 4, 1 year old? Should we arrive before our res to check it out? Haven't been in four years - skipped it last time - and not sure. Panel is INVALUABLE!!!

    Hello, Lauren,

First, you are so wonderfully kind with your sweet words -- thank you!  We love being able to help guests.

Downtown Disney is filled with lots of options, primarily dining and shopping.  My children have always loved visiting several stores:  Once Upon a Toy, World of Disney, and Lego Imagination Center. So for my family, we like to spend a few hours at Downtown Disney.

Children can also have a lot of fun designing their own t-shirts at Disney's Design-a-Tee as well as lots of sweet tooth dreaming at Goofy's Candy Co.

We also make it a tradition to pick out a holiday ornament as a family at Disney's Days of Christmas. You may find that a fun experience or just enjoy looking around.  In fact, there are many other stores and kiosks throughout Downtown Disney that are enjoyable just to wander through or to window shop.  We also have become addicted to pin trading at Disney's Pin Traders and Vinylmation trading (available at several locations at Downtown Disney).

If the weather is nice, there are two water play areas that are popular with children.  If it seems like it may be a temptation for your children, you might want to bring a fresh change of clothes for afterwards.  There is a family restroom located near Disney's Design-a-Tee that you could use to change if necessary.

I hope this helps to give you an idea of some things for your children to do if it works out to spend some extra time at Downtown Disney.  Please let us know if we can help again
