Hi! Heading to WDW in Oct '13 for parents 25th Wedding Ann. Will be parents, me (22) & brother (20). Just returned from AKL with boyfriend & LOVED it. Have booked W. Lodge for Oct but now wondering whether to change to AKL. Never stayed at W.L. Hel

    Hi Lydia,

Both resorts are absolutely beautiful.  I give the edge to Animal Kingdom Lodge, simply because of the savannah views that you can get.  At Wilderness Lodge you won't see zebra and giraffes roaming outside your room.  Having said that, I love Wilderness Lodge.  Taking the ferry to Magic Kingdom each morning is convenient and magical.  The two table service restaurants, Artist Point and Whispering Canyon Cafe, are some of my favorites in Walt Disney World.  The pool area is relaxing, and they even have bike rentals.

You're not going to go wrong at either resort.  Animal Kingdom Lodge is gorgeous; there's no doubt about that.  However, if you're looking for a new experience, try Wilderness Lodge.

Hope this helps.  Have a magical vacation!

Meet the Panelist: Diane, Georgia

After spending 25 years in RI, my husband and I relocated to GA with our youngest, who is now in high school. I took my first trip to Walt Disney World when I was 11 and I have traveled many times since then with all different party sizes. From creating our first itinerary as a honeymooner to later creating magical experiences for our multigenerational family gatherings, every aspect of planning a vacation has been pure joy to me.  Learn More About Diane
