Heading to WDW last week of Feb. and trying to decide between 10 days at POR with DXDP, or 8 days at WL with DXDP. I have 2 boys, 4 and 6 big eaters. Is upgrade to DXDP good idea, does trade off in $ of 10dy vs. 8dy worth it in mod. resort vs DLXR

    Hi Harold!

This is a really hard question.  In general I usually suggest staying longer at Walt Disney World if possible.  However, 7 nights / 8 days is a relatively long time and I think the benefits of being in the Wilderness Lodge outweigh spending two extra nights in Port Orleans Riverside.  However, both are wonderful places.  The Wilderness Lodge is my favorite Disney Deluxe Resort and Port Orleans Riverside is my favorite Disney Moderate Resort.  If it was me, I would pick staying in the Wilderness Lodge.

I am not a huge fan of the Disney Dining Plan and less so of the Deluxe Plan.  That is really a lot of food.  However, you really have to do that math to see what makes sense for your party.  That is because the "answer" is highly dependent on where you dine and what each member of your party might order.  Some guests save a lot of money by being on a Disney Dining Plan, some save a little, and some actually spend more.  To help you decide, I suggest visiting the independent website AllEars.Net.  There you can find the menu, including prices, for every Table Service and Quick Service restaurant in Walt Disney World.  Hopefully that information will help you make a decision.

Good luck and please write back with more questions!
