Hi! We are heading to WDW for First Vacation March 18-25, 2009. DH, DD 18 & 13, DS 15, 5, & 4 and DS In Law 21 and DGS 1. Celebrating 2 birthdays and Wedding Anniversary. Can't decide between deluxe or Moderate. Spending most time in the parks.

    Hello Cynthia,

If your budget allows, I would definitely recommend one of the "Deluxe" Resorts in Walt Disney World.  You will be there for a full week and even though not much time will be spent at the resort, it is very nice to have the luxuries you will get staying in the Deluxe category.  My favorite Deluxe resort at WDW is the Polynesian Resort....one reason is the island atmosphere that I love so much.  Another big benefit you will have is the Monorail System on-site and it really does make a big difference when you can leave your room during the day, hop onto the monorail and access Magic Kingdom, Ticket and Transportation Center (Where you can transfer to Epcot), the Grand Floridian Resort and the Contemporary Resort with much ease.  The food court is open 24 hours and you can rent watercraft right near the boat dock area and I can't forget to mention the complimentary boat transportation between the Magic Kingdom and other select WDW Resorts.  Lastly, I think the beach and the main pool (which is zero entry) are wonderful as well as your location to view the fireworks from Magic Kingdom and the Electrical Water Pageant (which sails by here as well) really makes you feel like you are being treated very special indeed.  I would definitely choose this Deluxe WDW Resort for my week long trip.

My favorite "Moderate" Resort at WDW would be the Coronado Springs Resort.  This resort location is fairly centralized in my opinion.  The main pool has a slide that is so much fun, there is a really nice playground there as well and you do have the option of lying in a hammock on the beach and sticking your feet in the sand (which is something I love to do there).  Really relaxing atmosphere at this resort, but it is quite large and if you don't have your own vehicle then transportation here can take a while in order to get around from place to place.  Wherever you decide to stay, I am confident that you will have a very magical time.

    Best wishes,
    Brigitta
