Heading to WDW 9/28-10/4. On dlx dining plan. What are the chances of being able to walk into table service restaurants such as Kona or the Wave? We have 11 meals booked already, and i am hesitant to reserve more. Traveling with 6 (two kids, 3 &1).

Hi Angela! Dining reservation questions often come to us on the panel site. It is hard to plan a vacation down to each meal but when visiting Walt Disney World it is definitely to your benefit to follow this plan.

The dates that you are planning your vacation will become quite busy due to the Epcot Food and Wine Festival. That draws many guests from around the world and although you are hoping to find walk up dining outside of that park it isn't going to be any easier. I can't say it is impossible but I can say it is unlikely you would have much luck. It is best to book all the meals you feel you will need and then as your vacation progresses and you know you will not want one of those you have reserved it is easier to cancel. Be sure and read all the fine print for each reservation to know if you would be charged if you don't cancel at a certain time as some require earlier cancellations then others.

As your vacation goes on you might find your family will enjoy something quick and easy but at least you will have something in place to feed them and to relax while you dine at a table service location. Just be sure and be courteous to cancel anything you won't be using as guests continue to hunt for a reservation up to the last minute.
