Heading to WDW for my DH and DD5 first visit. We like the pirate rooms at Caribbean. I've read that they are a very long walk to pools, food, and transportation. Any suggestions for the best room options? Also open to other mod resorts, no wilderness.

Hi Stephanie! Many guests love the Caribbean Resort and pirate rooms but they are indeed in the furthest building from the pool and food courts.  Seeing that you have a daughter it would be fun to consider the new princess rooms at Port Orleans!  These are really magical new rooms that will have interactive lighting making it seem like the Magic Kingdom fireworks are being shown in your own private room each evening. Your daughter will indeed feel like a princess for the entire vacation! Check out a picture of the room at this site: http://disneyparks.disney.go.com/blog/2011/04/specialty-rooms-will-give-guests-the-royal-treatment/

If you choose to stay at Caribbean Beach then Trinidad North is the best complex for location as well as buildings 24,25,26,45, and 51.

Port Orleans is a great resort beyond the princess rooms.  It is located close to Downtown Disney making access easy via a boat launch.  It gives you many options for dining as this area is full of great choices and entertainment.

Another moderate beyond the Port Orleans Riverside and French Quarter resorts that I enjoy is the Coronado Springs resort. I just like the feel and the quiet atmosphere. The rooms were refurbished just a few years ago and it was the first moderate resort to have queen beds in all rooms versus doubles. Tough choices but you can't go wrong being anywhere on Disney property!
