We`re heading to WDW on April 24th for 10 days, and I have a 5 and 8 year old. Are the double strollers big enough to hold both? Also, what do you do with your strollers/back packs, etc. when you're on rides? Thanks for any help you can give me!! :)

    Hi Becky,

For my family, strollers are a Disney vacation MUST and we never travel to the parks without one!  They can really be your saving grace at the end of a long, hot day of adventurous exploring.

The answer to your question really depends on the the type of stroller, the height of your 8 year old, and the total combined weight of the two children.

If you plan to rent a stroller in the parks, the weight capacity is 100 lbs. for a double.  These strollers are hard plastic with a small umbrella shade and aren't quite as comfortable as traditional double jogging strollers.  I have often noticed the older kids usually appear kinda "cramped" in these strollers, especially when sharing the space with another child.  Also, please note that the in-park rentals can not be taken out of the parks, so you will have to pick up a new one each day and in each park you visit.

I would consider renting from an off-property rental agency such as KingdomStrollers.com.  They offer several upscale name brands, including the City Mini Double, and City Mini Elite Double which will most likely accommodate both of your children comfortably as long as the combined weight is under 100 lbs. The process is so easy... Just reserve online and your stroller will be waiting at your resort when you arrive!  When you check-out, just return the stroller to the front desk!

(After typing this response, I double checked with a reliable source, and was told that as long as your 8-year old is under 53" tall and the combined weight of both is below 100 lbs. they should fit no problem)

As far as storing your things, there will be designated "Stroller Parking" areas outside of each attraction which are closely monitored by Cast Members.  I don't advise leaving valuables in the stroller, so I take my backpack with me on the rides!

    Best Wishes,
