We are heading to Magic Kingdom on October 16 & 17 while staying at AoA with 3 adults, a 3 yr old, and 14 month old. We will have a car so what is our best bet for transportation? I am worried about the girls patience with Disney's transportation.

    Hi Jennifer,

My family often rents a car when we visit Walt Disney World. I recommend that you drive pretty much everywhere. Since you are staying at a Walt Disney World Resort, you will not need to pay for parking at any of the theme parks. Just be sure to display your parking pass that you receive at Disney's Art of Animation on your dashboard. Show it to the cast member working at the booth when you enter any parking lot, and you will not have to pay. By driving, you will not need to wait for Disney transportation to and from your resort. Although the Disney transportation is wonderful, I can imagine why you want to avoid any potential patience issues with your little ones!

Once you park, often you can either walk to the front of a theme park or wait for the frequently running trams, which will take you right up to the entrance to the park. The exception to this is Magic Kingdom. Once you park here, you will still need to walk or take a tram to either the monorail or the ferry boat to get from the parking lot to the entrance to Magic Kingdom. If you took the bus from Disney's Art of Animation to Magic Kingdom, you would avoid the monorail or ferry boat rand would be dropped of right at the front entrance to Magic Kingdom. You will need to make the call if you think your children would be happier with a bus ride or a monorail or ferry boat ride.

My friends are always amazed at how well I can navigate my way around Walt Disney World. Here is my secret for driving around Walt Disney World: I follow the signs! Walt Disney World Resort is so well-signed that all you need to do is leave your resort and look for a sign for where you are going.

I hope that this information is helpful for you, Jennifer! Have a great time planning your trip, and please do not hesitate to ask if you have any further questions.
