Heading with my husband to WDW on October 1st. Any tips for getting the most out of the Epcot international food and wine festival??

    Hi Mereta,

You are in for a treat -- or a lot of treats! The Epcot International Food & Wine Festival is my favorite special event at Walt Disney World. My husband and I are heading there in a few days, too.

We recommend looking at the Global Marketplace menus in advance to figure out which tastes are on your "can't miss" list. We like to start on one side and work our way around the World Showcase at lunch time, then reverse at dinner time.

In between, we visit the Festival Center and take in a culinary demonstration or a beverage seminar. At $15 for a 45-minute experience, we think the demos and seminars are the best value at the festival.

Because there's so much to choose from, it's easy to over-indulge and over-spend. I like to decide how much we are going to spend on food and drink and put that amount on one of the special Food & Wine gift cards, which are attached to a bracelet. That makes it easy to pay and keep track.

Make sure you try something you've never had before. Tastes range from about $4 to $7, so it's an easy way to experiment.

And don't miss the free Eat to the Beat Concert Series. Grab a beverage and groove!

Thanks for asking about the festival. I hope my tips help you and your husband have a delicious visit. Enjoy!
