All being well we are heading to Florida from Northern Ireland at the end of June, we have 4 kids aged 13,11,8,5 and were wondering where to go on 4th July. We wouild really love to be a part of the celebrations, and would love help on where to visit then.

    Hi Helen!

Thank you for sending in your question to the Disney Parks Moms Panel.

The 4th of July is a very crowded day at Walt Disney World.  I have been there on that day twice in the past 5 years.  The Magic Kingdom will be extremely crowded on the 4th of July and generally closes on that day due to reaching park capacity.  Most guests want to see the special Magic Kingdom fireworks that night.    Epcot and Disney's Hollywood Studios will also have special 4th of July fireworks.  If you don't like crowds, you should head over to Disney's Animal Kingdom which generally isn't very crowded that day because there are no fireworks there and a lot of guests don't have the Park Hopper option on their tickets allowing them to go elsewhere.

If you do go to the Magic Kingdom, be sure to go there first thing in the morning before the crowds build and before the park closes due to reaching capacity (if it closes this year).  You could also go to the Magic Kingdom the day before as Disney actually performs the same fireworks show the night before.  If it was me, I would go to the Magic Kingdom on July 3rd and then go to Disney's Hollywood Studios on July 4th.  I like Disney's Hollywood Studios on July 4th because it typically will offer Fantasmic, its usual nighttime spectacular, and a special fireworks show.

I hope this helps!  Please write back with more questions!
