We are heading for our first visit in a couple of months. Can you tell me is the "key to the world" a paper ticket like the ones at Disneyland and do we need to bring our own lanyard for easy access or does DW provide you with one.

    Hi, Kelli!

Congratulations on your upcoming, very first visit to the Walt Disney World Resort! There are so many fun things in store for you and I'm so glad you've visited us here on the Moms Panel for some planning help.

The Key to the World cards at Walt Disney World are actually plastic and will serve as your Resort room key, your Park ticket, your credit card [if you allow charging privileges], and your Dining Plan credits are able to be added as well. This is so handy because you don't have to carry all of those things separately. Because all of this pertinent information is contained on the Key to the World card, you'll definitely want something like a lanyard with a card-holder to keep it safe and within easy reach while you're out touring the Parks. Some travel companies, like AAA, offer lanyards with their vacation packages. There are also endless choices of lanyards at the Walt Disney World Resort! On my family's first trip, our first stop was at The Emporium on Main Street to pick out lanyards for each member of the family before we hit the Attractions! It was really fun!

I hope this helps and I encourage you to come visit us again with any other questions you think of!

Wishing you Pixie Dusted vacation planning!
