We are heading to my final Disneyland Resort trip in Sept! Exciting, but sad. We are staying @ the Disneyland Hotel & heard that we can board at Downtown Disney monorail station. Now I hear that it is closing in August.Any idea if this is perm?

Hi there Brandi!  How exciting that your trip to the "Happiest Place on Earth" is coming up so soon, let the countdown begin!

The Disneyland Monorail is going to be under refurbishment in August, but I have not heard any news that it is a permanent closure.  The Disneyland Monorail usually does an annual refurbishment, and last year, it was around this same time.  There is not a reopening date published yet, but I'm hoping it's in time for your trip!

The hours and events calendar is updated through mid-August as of now, but this will be a great resource for you to check as your trip gets closer.  Under the daily events schedule, you can expand the "Closed for Refurbishment" section to see what will be under refurbishment during your trip.

Even if the Disneyland Monorail is closed during your trip, it's still a short walk from the Disneyland Hotel to both theme park entrances!  I actually love being on our own schedule and walking to and from the theme parks and the Downtown Disney District whenever works best for us.  You could also take a short break and enjoy one of the delicious dining options in the Downtown Disney District, or grab a sweet treat from Marceline's Confectionery!  I highly recommend the Churro Toffee!

I'm wishing you and your family a wonderful trip full of memories, Brandi!  Please come back to planDisney if we can help with anything else!

    Have a magical day,
    Melissa
