HI, I am heading to Epcot this month with my 4 year old baby girl. She loves rides, but does not like the dark. Is Journey into the Imagination with Figment and Spaceship Earth going to be problem for us? Thank you!

    Hi Noelle ~

Your trip is literally around the corner and I bet you are too excited to sleep already!

There are several rides at Disney that are in the dark. If your daughter doesn't like the dark, I would avoid Spaceship Earth. While it isn't an intense ride, it is pretty dark inside. The other thing to keep in mind is it is a little over 15 minutes long. If your daughter became frightened, it may be a few minutes before the ride is over.

Your daughter may enjoy Project Tomorrow: Inventing the Wonders of the Future which is located after you get off the ride portion. You can do this without riding the ride.

Journey Into Imagination with Figment is not dark throughout the ride. There are some dark parts, and some colorful ones. There are some loud noises in this attraction and that combined with some dark areas may not be a good combination for your little one. You can find full length videos of this and Spaceship Earth that Guests have taken and posted on YouTube which may give you a better idea.

Be sure to visit ImageWorks at the end of Journey Into Imagination with Figment. It is an interactive play area and just like Project Tomorrow: Inventing the Wonders of the Future, you do not have to ride the attraction to enter the post-ride interactive areas. You can enter through those instead.

Please feel free to visit again with any other questions. We'll be hEAR for you up until you embark on your pixie dusted trail!

Wishing you minnie magical memories :-) Allison V.
