We are heading to DW next week and my daughter was just diagnosed with a blood disorder that drains her energy very quickly. I'm wondering if Disney has any medical/disability accommodations that could help her experience?

    Hello, Laura!

How exciting to be vacationing with your family at Walt Disney World Resort this spring! I have a son who fatigues quickly so we must make good use of our time in the theme parks. We have found that starting our day early and planning for some rest time each afternoon helps our son enjoy as much magic as possible.

Utilize FastPass+. This complimentary service is included in your theme park admission and allows you to reserve up to three experiences per day in one park before you arrive. We love that we can book our son's must-do attractions around times that work best for him.

Request Disability Access Service (DAS). The DAS is designed for those who are unable to wait in a traditional queue. You can request this service, in person, at any theme park Guest Relations, and it will allow your daughter (and up to 5 Guests) to obtain a return time to an attraction. She is welcome to wait in a quiet area, have a snack, do some shopping or experience another attraction. After completing that attraction, another return time can be obtained for a different attraction. Using FastPass+ and DAS together, you can reduce wait times for your daughter.

Consider a stroller or wheelchair rental. Rentals are available in each theme park and Disney Springs. Your daughter can take a break from walking or sit while waiting in a queue, which may help her stretch her time in the parks.

I hope I have offered some suggestions to help your family. Please let us know if we can be of further assistance!

    Have a magical vacation!
