Hi, Amanda! Welcome back to
planDisney! Those two weeks can’t pass fast enough! I’m sure you’re really excited to experience
Walt Disney World, and I love that you’re on a mission to find pressed pennies! My wife and I went on an epic quest to collect every pressed penny at the
Disneyland Resort when we were dating. They’re a lot of fun to collect, and an excellent reminder of the magic of our early years together.
I checked in with one of my
planDisney pals who has recently used the pressed penny machines at Disney World. He reported that you can still pay with dollar bills, but most machines also take credit cards. The cost is $1 per pressed penny if you’re paying with a dollar bill, though the price is subject to change. If you’re paying with a card, you must purchase all the pressed pennies the machine offers, though there is usually a discount, such as 8 pressed pennies for $5 (prices may vary and are subject to change). Be sure to check the
Pressed Coin Machine page on the Walt Disney World website to see a list of locations for the machines all across Disney World. Did you know there are more than 120 different pressed penny machines?
Amanda, you’re visiting during an excellent time of year. The parks have a special energy during the summer months due to the very full entertainment schedule.
Starlight - Dream the Night Away, the
Happily Ever After fireworks,
Luminous The Symphony of Us, and
Fantasmic!, are all playing while you’re there. Check out the
Hours & Events Calendar to see all of the scheduled entertainment for the dates you’re visiting.
Amanda, you’ll be rich in a very special way after collecting pressed pennies at the Disney World Resort. The memories of your trip are worth so much! I hope you have an excellent trip, and I want you to know that
planDisney is here for you if you have more questions. See ya real soon!
I hope you have a magical day!
