We are heading down in WDW in August '12. My hubbie wants to try out the suites at the new Art of Animation. I want to return to Wilderness Lodge b/c I fear a new property with lil information. We have 3 and 7 year old sons. Annual travelers need help!

Hi Debbie!  It is always hard to try new when you love the old.  We have been coming to Walt Disney World since it opened in 1971 and we have now stayed at almost every resort on property. I am sure I will want to try the new Art of Animation Value Resort set to open in May 2012.

The new suites will be similar to those at the All Star Music. They are much roomier then the normal value room and they will be new which is always nice.  To see pictures of these new suites please click HERE.

The one thing you will need to realize if you make the move to the Art of Animation is that you will be going from a Disney Deluxe Resort, The Wilderness Lodge, to a Value Resort.  The amenities will be far less at a value and transportation will take longer since you will be further from all parks.  It is a tough battle to make that decision and keep everyone happy.

One thing you might consider if your trip is long enough is to split your reservation between the two locations.  Try the new Art of Animation suite for the first two days and then move over to Wilderness Lodge for the rest of the trip.  It isn't easy to pack up and move but Disney will help transfer your luggage and it is one way for everyone in the family to get their wish for this year's vacation!
