Hi there, Lisa!
I'm so excited that you brought your question to planDisney! A first visit to the Disneyland Resort is a very magical day, and I would absolutely love to give you a few ideas on enjoying the theme parks with a tiny Mouseketeer.
First, let's talk about decorations and entertainment! Visiting in early November means that the decor will be magically transitioning from Halloween to
Holidays at the Disneyland Resort, so the specific decorations will probably be changing a little bit every day! You may spy some pumpkins still hanging around, along with holiday decorations making their sparkling debut. It's a combination that Jack Skellington would be proud of!
For entertainment, you'll want to check the
Hours & Events Calendar often as your visit gets a little bit closer. When my kids were small they really loved music, so we often made time to listen to The Dapper Dans and the Disneyland Band, which both perform several times most days around Disneyland Park. Another great entertainment option for little ones is
Storytelling at Royal Theatre, which features short (and humorous) retellings of some favorite fairytales.
I love how many attractions you can experience at Disneyland Park that don't have a height requirement! Your daughter is very close to the age my daughter was for her first visit. Some of her favorites were:
- "it's a small world"
- King Arthur Carrousel
- Storybook Land Canal Boats
- Walt Disney's Enchanted Tiki Room (my kids loved DOLE Whip from a very young age!)
- The Disneyland Railroad (but know that the section between Tomorrowland and Main Street, U.S.A. includes some dark spots and loud noises)
Your daughter is also at an amazing age for meeting characters! This would be a great time to watch some Mickey Mouse cartoons so that you can go and visit
Mickey's Toontown and see Mickey in his house! There are also some delightful places to stretch your legs and explore around the neighborhood, including fountains to splash in and a colorful playground in
Goofy's How-to-Play Yard. If you get a little hungry while you're there just stop by
Good Boy! Grocers for a snack. You can even pick up a picnic basket and blanket to snack and relax in CenTOONial Park!
If you find yourself missing any critical kid items (like diapers, pacifiers, etc.) just stop by the
Baby Care Center on Main Street, U.S.A. for some help! This is also a great place to change a diaper, warm a bottle, or purchase some extra baby food. We even fed my daughter a whole meal in there once when she was getting a little overstimulated and just needed a break!
Lisa, I am so excited for your daughter to have her first magical visit! Don't forget to stop by Guest Services to get a complimentary "1st Visit" button to commemorate the occasion. If you have more questions about visiting Disneyland Park with little ones I would be so happy to help you!
Send me a note and I'll be back with pixie dust and answers as soon as I can.
Keep moving forward!
Amanda
