Hi Meaghan!
I don’t believe you can ask for a baby-proofed room, but I can offer a couple suggestions for you to help make your resort room more safe for your son. When my son was this age, we brought outlet safety plugs to ensure the outlets were safe for him. We always unplugged the phone because he loved using it as a toy. Since we’re local, we would bring a baby gate to block off the bathroom to him. If bringing a gate isn’t an option, keep the bathroom door closed and perhaps bring a child-proof door handle for the door. We would push all furniture into one section against walls so he would have plenty of room to wobble around without worrying too much about falling and hitting corners. He had a hard time sleeping in a crib with us in the room, so we pushed one of the beds against the wall and have him sleep with one of us so we didn’t have to worry about him falling off.
Have a magical day!
