Hi, there!
Bridgette, I am just thrilled to hear you'll be visiting the
Walt Disney World Resort in only a few days. You must be so very excited!
Ordering groceries for your upcoming stay is a super great idea. As a mom of three, the last thing I need on my hands is a "hangry" kid, so I always place an order for my kids' favorite snacks and drinks ahead of our arrival! I usually also order fresh produce, on-the-go breakfast items, and theme park essentials like sunscreen. The less I need to pack in my luggage, the better!
While your
Disney Resort hotel will certainly hold your grocery delivery order (they'll even refrigerate any perishable items!), I do not recommend having your order delivered before your arrival date. Many grocery delivery services will allow you to schedule an arrival date delivery ahead of time. I recommend placing an order with Garden Grocer, an Orlando-based delivery service. My family has been using this service for years, and we've always had great experiences! I just checked the Garden Grocer website and they have plenty of delivery windows available this weekend. I typically pick a delivery window that is just a few hours ahead of my arrival. That way, I know that my groceries will be waiting for me at Bell Services upon check-in!
If you'd prefer Bell Services to deliver your groceries to your room, please note that you will need to be present for the delivery and that a delivery fee of $6 will be charged to your room account (that price is subject to change at any time).
Guests are welcome to bring food and non-alcoholic beverages into the theme parks. Loose ice is not permitted, though, so plan ahead if you need to keep some items cool while you're experiencing pixie-dusted adventures in the theme parks. I usually pack a box of gallon-sized Ziploc bags for our Disney vacations. These resealable bags come in handy for all sorts of reasons, but one way I always use a bag is to fill it with ice from the hotel's ice machine. Then I just toss it into the cooler we pack for the theme parks!
Thanks for stopping by planDisney, Bridgette. I'm wishing you a magical Walt Disney World Resort vacation!
Ashley
