Heading to Disney World on May 10th YAY!! Thinking about Fantasmic dining package for my husband, my self and 3 daughters. Since the dinner times are at "off" hours, do we need these VIP passes or would it be easier to just show up for the Fantas

Luckily you've chosen a historically relatively low crowd level time to visit Walt Disney World, Mike.  Based on that, I would not think that the Fantasmic! dinner package would be necessary.  It is, however, a great way to ensure yourself a seat at the show without having to wait in line for an extended amount of time.  I do think that you'd be able to see the show without the package, but if you are looking to maximize your time in the park while minimizing your time in line, the meal package might be a worthwhile expenditure for your family.  But if you don't mind the hour wait to see Fantasmic!, I say skip the package and dine when and where you want to.  Good luck!
