Hi! We're heading to Disney World in January with our 2 year old and Grandma and Grandpa. How does rider swap work now that it is digital? And what is the time frame for the second group to go on that ride? Thanks!

    Hello Catherine!

Welcome back to the Disney Parks Moms Panel!

I’m excited to hear that in just a couple of months you will be making memories at the Walt Disney World Resort! Are you staying at a Disney Resort hotel? If so, don't forget that you have up to 60 days before arrival to start making FastPass+ selections!

Did you know that Guests using FastPass+ are also welcome to request Rider Switch service? This is a great feature that allows adult Guests to take turns watching little ones who still can’t enjoy certain attractions.  To request Rider Switch, simply talk to Cast Members at the entrance of participating attractions. Please note that all members of your party must be present so that Guests in the second group to ride may assigned a digital pass that will be linked to their MagicBand or admission card. The return time window for the second group will last one hour and will start depending on the attraction's current standby wait time minus 10 minutes. If the standby wait time is 60 minutes when you request the pass, the return window to use the Rider Switch pass will start after 50 minutes.

Moms Panel tip: check the planning guide for preschoolers and little ones to add even more magic to your visit.

I hope this helps you while planning, Catherine! Please stop by real soon with more questions.

    Best magical wishes,
