We heading to Disney World in 8 days and really really want to make it to Rise of the Resistance, but I’ve read that the new virtual queue process is a bit difficult to manage and we should plan on getting to Hollywood Studios at 5am. Do you have any tips?

Bright Suns, David! It's so great to see you here today at the Disney Parks Moms Panel.

It's a really exciting time on the planet Batuu with the recent opening of the newest, most technologically-advanced advanced attraction at Walt Disney World Resort, Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance. I had the chance to ride this attraction for myself when it first opened back in December and without spoiling anything for you, it's really spectacular. I also have some experience with the boarding group system that's being used as a virtual queue to keep your spot in line, and I'm happy to walk you through how you can set yourself up for success and take on Kylo Ren and the First Order for yourself when you're on vacation next week.

First off, I want to assure you that the boarding group process is not difficult to manage at all. It's actually quite simple to use! The key to getting into a boarding group is arriving early, at least 45 minutes before the Theme Park opens for the day. When the attraction opened late last year, there were a lot of people who were arriving at 5 a.m. but the boarding group process has been tweaked a little bit since then so that numbers do not get distributed until Disney's Hollywood Studios has officially opened for the day. Since you need to already be inside the Theme Park in order to join a boarding group, getting there a little early is important. Cast Members have been opening the gates slightly early so guests can filter onto Hollywood Boulevard and be in place to join a boarding group at opening. At exactly 7 a.m., tap the "Find Out More" button under the picture of the AT-ATs on the homepage of the My Disney Experience app. From there, you'll tap "Join Boarding Group" and be assigned a group number. You'll get a notification when your number is called, you'll have two hours to get to the entrance of the attraction so that gives you plenty of time to use or modify any of your FastPass+ selections you have or finish up if you're eating or enjoying a show. The Cast Members at Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance will scan your MagicBand or tickets to confirm your boarding group, and then you can enter the queue! I am honestly thrilled for you, and maybe a little jealous, that you get to experience this attraction for the first time next week.

'Til the Spire, David, and may the Force be with you!
