Oh my goodness Lindsey! I'm so excited for you!! Your Walt Disney World Resort vacation is going to be magical and I know you, your hubby and extended family will LOVE seeing the theme parks through the eyes of your precious 14 month old!
You heard correctly! You are referring to the
Rider Switch Service and it's wonderful! Rider Switch is a great service that allows adult Guests to take turns waiting with younger Guests or those unable to ride.
Rider Switch is available at select attractions at all 4 theme parks at Walt Disney World Resort so be sure to ask a Cast Member if it's available before entering the queuing area.
To use the Rider Switch Service go to the attraction with your entire party and let the Cast Member know you are in need of a Rider Switch Pass. The Guests who are not initially riding will be given a Rider Switch Pass and asked to wait in a designated area (typically outside of the attraction). The other party rides the attraction. Once the ride concludes and the 1st party is supervising the Guest not riding, the 2nd party enters the attraction and gives the Cast Member the Rider Switch Pass. The second group enjoying the attraction will not have to wait in the regular queue the 2nd time.
It sounds like you have a rather large party traveling with you. Please know that only 2 Guests are allowed per Rider Switch Pass.
I realize this may seem a bit confusing but once you have experienced it a time or two, you will be a pro. Plus your little one will enjoy the time with your family. My kiddos typically enjoyed a snack or sometimes took a nap in their stroller when we did the Rider Switch.
Thanks so much for your question and please let us know if you need further information as you plan for your magical Walt Disney World Resort vacation!
