We are heading to Disney 9/1-9/5/11, staying at the Contemporary. Wondering what the crowds are like this time of year? My daughter will be 8 2 wks prior...can i still order a cake for her at the Royal Table even though she already had her birthday? TY!

    Hello Liz,

I have a soon-to-be eight year old as well and I can't think of a better way to celebrate a birthday than going to Disney World!

You can absolutely get a cake for your daughter! Cakes can be ordered for any reason, at any time of year. It's sure to be the icing to a wonderful celebration. Many table service restaurants have six-inch round cakes on hand. Just talk to a Cast Member when you arrive at the restaurant. Or you can order a custom made cake from the Disney Bakery by calling 407-WDW-DINE.

I trust the good folks at TouringPlans.com when planning my trips. And for the week prior to Labor Day, they predict crowds to be at a manageable level. I've never visited at this time of year but have heard that it's great because most Guests have headed home for the summer and returned to school. And the weather is fantastic.

Hope this helps. And happy birthday to your daughter!

My family loves our Main Street in Ohio. But there's simply no comparison to Main Street U.S.A.! We don't get to Disney quite as often as I'd like, but that just means finding new ways to sprinkle Pixie Dust on our adventures! Learn More About Monina
