Hi - we are heading to Disney SOON! My mother is wanting to pay cash at quick service locations in Disney Springs. How hard is it to do this?

    Hi Ryan!

Welcome back to planDisney! I am thrilled to see you stopping by with another great question!

We visited the Walt Disney World Resort in December and contactless forms of payment were definitely strongly encouraged as was Mobile Food & Beverage Ordering. The good news is that your mother can still use cash. I can totally empathize. My father would do the same! She will just need to inform a Cast Member at the dining location that she needs to use cash.

Since we found Mobile Food & Beverage Ordering so useful, I will recommend that your mother purchase a few Disney Gift Cards. These can be used with Mobile Food & Beverage Ordering! We had several Disney Gift Cards on our last visit. I uploaded the gift card details on the Disney Gift Card website so that I could check the balances online. And I also took pictures of the back of each card to remember the gift card numbers. Disney Gift Cards give me a little more security than carrying cash because there is a process for cancelling the card and transferring the funds to a new card in the event they are lost or stolen.

If you have not done so already, be sure to access the Disney Park Pass system to reserve theme park days. Also make advanced dining reservations. We were so happy to have dining reservations for most meals during our trip. One day, I checked the Mobile Food & Beverage Ordering in Disney's Hollywood Studios for Woody's Lunch Box and the pick-up time was two hours from the time I was starting to place the order. Have some snacks just in case you have to wait longer than anticipated.

One final tip - at Disney Springs, we were able to join a virtual queue for Disney Springs World of Disney. We browsed another store for about 10 minutes and were called to join the line. Once we returned, we showed a store representative our text message calling us to return and we were allowed directly into the store. It seemed much better than standing in the line! Remember to review the operational updates just prior to your visit as procedures and experience availability could change.

Ryan, I can hEAR your excitement! Our last trip was absolutely wonderful. Enjoy your time! We cannot wait to welcome you back for your next Incredible Disney Day!

    Magic and memories,
    Donyell
