Scott from OK Asked Note: This answer was provided prior to the change to planDisney and may still contain references to Disney Parks Moms Panel.

Heading to Disney in September with a 14 year old, 11 year old, and 4 year old. My biggest question is when we use the rider switch do both adults have to have a fast pass to get the switch ticket?

Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel, Scott! I am so happy to answer your questions about Rider Switch Service and FastPass+ today. I hope you will continue to visit the Moms Panel while planning your Walt Disney World Resort vacation!

You do not need to use FastPass+ service in order to use Rider Switch. In fact, no one in your party needs to have FastPass+ scheduled for the Attraction you want to use Rider Switch on.

The reason some Guests like to have a FastPass+ scheduled is because it makes it faster for Rider Switch “Party 1” to enjoy the Attraction, but it is not a requirement. Rider Switch “Party 2” will be able to board the Attraction without having to wait in the regular queue, thus eliminating the need for FastPass+.

Mom's Tip: For even more information, please visit the “What Is Rider Switch and How Does It Work?” section not the Rider Switch webpage.
Scott, if you need any further clarification or have any more questions about Walt Disney World Resort please visit the Moms Panel again! I wish you an unforgettable vacation.
