Hi! We are heading to Disney July 4 and my son is a tall 14-year-old. I was wondering if Bay Lake has rollaway beds? If so how do I order one?

Hey there, Christie! Welcome to planDisney! I'm so glad you've stopped by with your vacation planning question. I just love chatting Disney with my pals, pal!

Eek! In less than a month, you'll be arriving at Bay Lake Tower at Disney's Contemporary Resort, ready to begin your magical adventure at The Most Magical Place on Earth. How exciting! Bay Lake Tower is one of my Disney Vacation Club Home Resorts and my very favorite Disney Resort. With its location within walking distance to Magic Kingdom Park with the monorail soaring by, endless nearby dining options, and oh-so-fun recreation offerings and Resort activities, there seems to be an extra buzz of magic in the air here. One of my favorite Disney memories is watching Magic Kingdom Park's incredible Fourth of July fireworks spectacular from our balcony at Bay Lake Tower. It was seriously the most incredible fireworks show I have ever seen, and I'm so happy for you to get to experience Disney's Celebrate America - A Fourth of July Concert in the Sky! With all the fun that you and your family will be having, you will definitely need to get good rest, so, let's chat about options for your son's sleeping arrangements.

Unfortunately, Bay Lake Tower does not offer rollaway beds due to the fire code. But Hakuna Matata! It means "no worries!" My father-in-law is very tall, and he always fits well and gets the best Disney sleep in the Queen-size pull-out sofa sleeper at Bay Lake Tower. If you are staying in a One or Two-Bedroom Villa and you find that your son is too tall to comfortably sleep on the pull-out chair in the living room, I suggest that he sleeps on the larger sofa sleeper in the living room, if possible. If not, air mattresses are available at the Resort on a first-come, first-served basis, and the request must be made in person upon your arrival. Now, the whole family should be all set and ready for pixie-dusted dreams!

While you're enjoying your stay at Bay Lake Tower, I must recommend participating in the Once Upon a Painting experience that is held at California Grill! My family and I just did this a couple of weeks ago, and we had the best time painting our ceramic castle lamp while enjoying the best views in all of Walt Disney World Resort. The Cast Members even let the adults grab a cocktail from the pool bar and bring it up to enjoy while painting. It was truly a magical and unforgettable experience. Core memories were made! Just look for the sign in the lobby of Bay Lake Tower and visit or call the Community Hall to book.

I hope this was helpful, Christie, and I hope that you all have a practically perfect, pixie-dusted vacation! Stop by any time with any vacation planning questions you may have along the way. You've got a friend in me!

I hope to see ya real soon,
