We will be heading to Disney in a few weeks. What is the best bag for me to use on rides that can carry my ID, credit cards, etc?

    Hi Charla,

Thank you so much for visiting the Disney Parks Moms Panel. We on the panel love helping guests to plan magical vacations!

It is really smart to consider what kind of bag you want to bring into the theme parks with you. I think that as with many things, the answer will depend on you and what you like to do in your daily life. I have always been very comfortable with a backpack. I like how backpacks distribute weight across my back, and I feel balanced and comfortable in one. Before I had children, I would carry a small backpack with me. Now, with children, I carry a larger backpack, the traditional size you see students carrying, because I like to be prepared for all occasions. I tend to have rain ponchos, water, snacks, and extra clothes in my theme park backpack now. I take this backpack with me on attractions and have never had a problem with this. I often find myself putting the backpack on the floor of an attraction with my foot through the strap while I ride. If I know that it going to be a very hot day, I freeze one of my water bottles and pack it at the bottom of my backpack. This then rests against my lower back while I am carrying the backpack and helps me to stay cool!

In a very "Circle of Life" moment, my tween daughter recently found the small backpack I carried in the theme parks and started carrying it into the theme parks herself! I have friends who also enjoy messenger-type or cross-body bags as their theme park bags. Again, it really depends on what you are most comfortable with.

Whichever bag you choose, do check to be sure that you are within the size requirements of restricted personal items, and that you stay away from bringing any of the items on that list into the theme parks with you.

I hope that these thoughts are helpful for you, Charla! Please do let us know if you have any further questions.
