We are heading to Disney on Dec. 3. It will be the first time for our 5 and 7 year old. Our 7 year old daughter will be turning 8 during our stay, is there anything special for 1st time visitors or birthday guests?

    Hi there, Sarah!

You are in for an absolutely magical time!

Everyone in your traveling party needs to pick up a complimentary "1st Visit" pin, available at any Guest Relations counter or at your Resort check-in. Wear them the entire time you are on Disney property and share your fun!

Happy early birthday to DD!  When you stop by Guest Relations at any Park or at your Resort front desk, pick up a complimentary "Happy Birthday" button for her to wear (she can do so all vacation!). Everyone in your traveling party can also get an "I'm Celebrating" button, which can be personalized with DD's name and age. Keep the buttons on; you never know what pixie dust might be sprinkled on you!

Character dining is always a hit with the little ones, especially on a birthday! Try to grab a reservation at one of the many character dining meals throughout the Resort by calling (407) WDW-DINE, and make sure to tell the Cast Member who assists you that you have a birthday in your party.

You can also call 24 hours in advance of a meal and have a custom cake delivered to your table. The "cakeline" is (407) 827-2253.

You might also want to consider the Pirates and Pals Fireworks Voyage. You'll have breathtaking seating for Wishes and the Electric Water Pageant, a hysterical Pirate host, delicious refreshments, and some surprise character interactions along the way. Call (407) WDW-PLAY to book this one; as with dining reservations, you may reserve a spot on a Specialty Cruise 180 days before your arrival.

    Have a incredible time!

    See you later, celebrator,
    -Deborah B.
