Heading back to WDW mid-Nov 2014. 8 total in party, me & my husband, our two kids (2.5 and 5), in-laws (mid-60's) & parents (mid-50's). Planning 6 days w/ a park hopper ticket +Christmas party. Torn between WL, AKL, & POR. Loved the BC last

    Hi Angela!

Those are 3 great resorts to stay while at Walt Disney World.

Disney's Port Orleans Resort - Riverside is my family's main resort and we enjoy its woods like feel and the comfort of the rooms.  Rooms at the Alligator Bayou feature a pull down - bunk size bed that features Louis the Alligator - my kids love taking turns on this bed.
When staying at this resort we have used a rental car, allowing us to come and go to the parks and other resorts in less than 30 minutes - most times in less than 15 minutes.

Having stayed at Disney's Beach Club Resort you know the extra comforts and fun pools that Deluxe Resorts offer.
Wilderness Lodge and Animal Kingdom Lodge are in my humble opinion the 2 most beautifully design and decorated Walt Disney World Resorts.  Both feature awesome pools, excellent restaurants and really cool outdoor activities.
Neither is directly connected to a theme park, but both are really close to one park.

If budget allows, I prefer the Polynesian Resort and the Contemporary - basically because their location.  Both resorts are really close to the main attraction, Magic Kingdom - from the Contemporary you can actually walk.  They are also part of the Monorail system allowing easier transportation between the resorts (restaurants), to Magic Kingdom, the Transportation and Ticket Center and Epcot.

Glad to help you plan a magical Disney vacation.
