We are headed to WDW Nov 12-18th and want to see the Electrical Parade on the 13th at 7pm prior to our Pirates and Pals Voyage at 8:45. Can we get from MK to the Contemporary Resort in that time frame after the parade? Thanks.

    Michelle:

According to the calendar at www.disneyworld.com for the Magic Kingdom on November 13, the Main Street Electrical Light Parade is at 9 p.m. and 11 p.m.  So you may need to do some adjusting...

When our family went on the Pirates & Pals Voyage, the boat returned fairly quickly to the pier after the fireworks.  The night of your visit, the fireworks will be at 10 p.m. giving you an hour to view the fireworks and then to get to the park for the parade...

It's pretty tight and is dependent on three things:
    1. You don't linger after the boat returns to the pier (my best guess would be around 10:35). For our voyage, Peter Pan met us and our boys wanted pictures...
    2. You don't take the monorail to the Magic Kingdom from the Contemporary, but you walk from the pier to the front gate of park. (I suggest you map out this route ahead of time.) If you have small children, I don't recommend this, though. Your alternative is the monorail, but the trip will take 15 minutes minimum.
    3. Hope the parade begins in Frontierland, not Main Street, giving you about 15 to 20 minutes padding before it reaches the traffic circle (right inside the gate, from where I recommend you watch the parade). If you're in the Magic Kingdom earlier in the day, Guest Relations may know where the 11:00 parade will originate.
It's a trek that's not particularly suited for novices of the park, but if the parade begins in Frontierland, might be pulled off.

    Wishing y'all a magical vacation!

My family of 6 appreciates Disney's value! Although Ft. Wilderness is our second home, we've enjoyed the resorts for business, reunions and romantic getaways. For me, Disney also means dining: last count, I'd eaten at 55 restaurants around the World! Learn More About Whitney
