We are headed to WDW in 18 days w our 10& 8 yo. This is the first time we are not taking a stroller and I am a little anxious about my 8yo daughter who has ADD keeping up, being on her feet all day, getting lost, etc. Any advice you might have for me?

    Hi Janell,

Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! How exciting to have a trip planned with your 10-year old and 8-year old. My girls are now 10-years old, but I remember the stroller dilemma.

We took our girls to the Walt Disney World Resort for the first time when they were 5-years old. My husband and I were also afraid of them getting lost but we decided that we were not pushing a stroller of any kind, so we had to plan accordingly. To minimize walking, we mapped out our day to spend most of our time in one particular section of each park.

I suggest that you consider location when making your Fast Pass+ selections and dining reservations. Keep them in the same geographic area as much as possible or, just be sure you are not going to opposite ends of the park in between Fast Pass+ selections or dining reservations. So, for example, we typically do two days in Magic Kingdom. On one day, we do Seven Dwarfs Mine Train, Tomorrowland Speedway then Space Mountain in that order. Then we grab a smoothie at Auntie Gravity's Galactic Goodies. On day two, we do Pirates of the Caribbean, Big Thunder Mountain Railroad and Splash Mountain.

We also take advantage of shows. That gives all of our legs a break. On our last visit, we did the Disney Festival of Fantasy Parade Dining Package. Since we arrived at the park early for a pre-park opening dining reservation, we planned to leave the park right after the parade. An eight-hour day is a good day for us. Nobody gets overly tired and we go back to the resort to relax at the pool before dinner.

Janell, if you find that your daughter needs a stroller, you can take advantage of stroller rentals in the parks. Just rent and go!

Magic, memories and Minnie Mouse hugs,
