Hi! We are headed to the Magic Kingdom Dec.30, 31 and Jan. 1, and want to make sure that our youngest gets to meet Rapunzel. Any idea how long the wait will be during that busy time of year, or advice on making sure we get to meet her? Thanks!

    Hi Kristin,

My family were at Walt Disney World for Christmas & New Year last year and there is no getting away from the fact that it is going to be busy!

If meeting Rapunzel is a must-do for your youngest Princess, I think that 1 January 2012 will be your best bet. There is usually a special "Fantasy in the Sky" fireworks display held on both the 30 & 31 December at the Magic Kingdom and for this reason, I would expect the park to be extremely busy.

We spent 1 January 2011 at the Magic Kingdom and arrived for park opening time. As many guests were at the theme parks to see the New Year in the night before, we found it to be a lot less crowded particularly in the morning.

I would suggest that you get to the Magic Kingdom for opening time, pick up a Times Guide as you enter the park to find out what time Rapunzel will be meeting and greeting guests at the Fairytale Garden and aim to be there for 15 minutes prior to the first time stated.

I am pretty sure that this way, your Daughter will be able to see Rapunzel without much of a wait and that you will then be able to enjoy some other attractions before the crowds start building up later in the day.

    Wishing you a magical trip!
