Hi! We are headed to Fort Wilderness in 10 days!!! Eek!! Is there a place to park out golf cart near chip n dales campfire? Dinner ideas after the campfire? I haven’t been able to get ANY resys for dinner on the 7th at the campground and it’s our rest day.

Hey there, Heather. Welcome to planDisney. Thanks for stopping by to chit-chat about your upcoming Walt Disney World vacation.

Heather, I am so excited to know that you'll be staying at Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground in just a few days. It's my home away from home. In fact, I have a trip there in just a few weeks as well. It's such a fun place.

I think you'll be happy to know that there is golf cart parking pretty much everywhere around The Fort as it is so lovingly nicknamed. The resort itself is so big and spread out that most people will either get around by golf cart or bike so you'll see plenty of parking for both around all of the fun spots.

One of my family's favorite things to eat while we stay at The Fort is the fried chicken family meal from P & J's Southern Takeout. This is the to-go restaurant connected to the Trail's End Restaurant. The fried chicken meal comes with 8 pieces of delicious fried chicken, a side of macaroni and cheese, a side of mashed potatoes and gravy and a loaf of cornbread. This meal rings up at just $23.49, please keep in mind prices are subject to change without notice, and is really, really good. P & J's Southern Takeout also serves up a lot of different menu offerings if fried chicken isn't your thing. We've had ribs, pizza, salads and burgers. You really can't go wrong eating there. This is a quick-service dining location so no reservations are necessary. Because the food from here is to-go you can either take it back to your camper or cabin or enjoy it at one of the many picnic tables scattered around outside. Also, Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground will sometimes have food trucks come out and serve up dinner. If that is going on during your stay, you can find all of the information about which ones will be there on what day when you check in at the Outpost.

I hope you have a rootin' tootin' fun time at The Fort. If you have other questions before you go, please feel free to stop back by and ask me. I'm happy to help.

    Have fun!

Meet the Panelist: Jackie, North Carolina

I love all things Walt Disney World.  In fact, since becoming Annual Passholders, my family of 3 is always hopping in the car for a quick trip to visit with Mickey Mouse!  I've been known to make the 8 hour each way drive to Walt Disney World (in one day!) to indulge in a Mickey Waffle or enjoy a sunny day at Disney's Typhoon Lagoon Water Park.  I may have a small family, but we are always up for some BIG fun at the Walt Disney World Resort.   Learn More About Jackie
