Hi, We are headed to DW on 12-30 for six days. 2 adults one 10yr old girl. First thought is PORFQ; however, a lot of the dining and shows we want is in the Epcot/Hollywood Studios area. Is the SWAN a good choice in lieu of POR? Seems like easier access. )

    Hi Ruth!

Thank you for sending in your question to the Walt Disney World Moms Panel!

The Walt Disney World Swan is a great hotel located on Crescent Lake between Disney's Hollywood Studios and Epcot.  You can walk to both theme parks from the Swan, but it is about a 10 to 15 minute walk to the Studios and about 15 to 20 minute walk to Epcot, depending on how fast you walk.  There is also a boat that runs to both theme parks.  The Swan is across a walkway from the Dolphin and both share a lot of restaurants, a great pool, etc.

Just keep in mind that the Swan is an independent hotel in the heart of Walt Disney World.  Since it is not owned by Disney, guests do not have access to Disney's Magical Express transportation to and from the airport.  However, guests do have access to Disney transportation within Walt Disney World and Extra Magic Hours.

I hope this helps!  Please write back with more questions!
