Hey Dana!
I went to check the forecast when I saw your question and you aren't kidding! It looks like a very warm weekend at the Disneyland Resort, so I'm glad you're planning ahead. I'm happy to share some ideas for keeping your cool at the parks!
My most important strategy is to come early and enjoy the morning before the weather warms up. You can't beat those morning hours! I like to be at security
45-60 minutes before the park opens to start our day well. Then we often take a break at our hotel during the warmest hours of the day so we can come back fresh for a cooler evening.
Next, let's talk about clothes and gear! Sunglasses, hats, and light clothing all help a lot. I also love my portable neck fan and on very hot days I'll bring a small umbrella for shade. A refillable water bottle is really important to help you stay hydrated. It doesn't need to be large, there are plenty of places to fill a bottle around the parks. But make sure you
don't pack anything that isn't allowed into the parks (like loose ice)!
If you do find yourself in the parks during the hottest part of the day there are some good places to go cool off. Some of my favorites are:
I think it's really important to take breaks before you realize you're tired. If you're planning to be in the park for a full day then I'd recommend making a dining reservation so you can have a nice, leisurely meal and rest your feet. It helps a lot! Purchasing
Lightning Lane Multipass is another great way to minimize your time in the sun. Lightning Lane queues will get you to the indoor parts of the line faster, helping you keep cool and experience more attractions during your visit.
I hope your trip will be filled with blue skies and plenty of ice cream to beat the heat, Dana!
Keep moving forward!
Amanda
