We are headed down to Disney World in Florida around the 4th of July. I was wondering if we could decorate our RV campsite at Fort Wilderness? Are there any rules or regulations prohibiting this? Also is the entire campsite cement or is most of it sand?

Hi Ginger! Fort Wilderness is always a fun place to be around any holiday! It has become our home away from home when we visit Disney and we love this resort.

You can certainly decorate your campsite for the great 4th of July holiday. There are simple rules in place and basically you cannot obstruct sidewalks or the roadways with anything that might hinder visibility and access. You cannot intrude on your neighbors site in any way unless you are traveling together and agree to the decoration to be set up together. But the sites are big enough and you will have room for a wonderful tribute to America. There is a power outlet on all sites but you might need to consider outdoor extension cords if you have something in mind that will need power. Many guests love to use the inflatables for decorations as they are easy to put up and very colorful to all who travel by them. Just remember that summer storms can bring winds so whatever you choose have it well secured so it won't blow away while you might be gone.

There are several kinds of sites at the Fort. The premium ones will be concrete pads and have been set up to accommodate the large buses and motor coaches. Anyone can reserve these but usually the shorter RV's or tents use the loops that are half concrete and half level sand. Many who reserve these have tents as well as coaches and it makes it easy to set up the tents in the sand. The loops that are set back in the woods will have the half and half so it also depends on what location you are preferring. When you make a reservation be sure and request the type of site you are wishing. You can call and add this request to an existing reservation too.

Have fun and celebrate with style and decor at the great Fort Wilderness campground!
