Hi Jannie!
With 8 children and 9 grandchildren, I have learned through the years Character Dining is a way to make everyone happy--the children, because they are guaranteed to see their favorite Characters up close and personal and the adults, because they can usually avoid the lines at Character Spots at the Parks. For us, it has always been a win-win! All of the Character Meals we have ever been to (and we have been to a LOT) have always been well-run and calm. Every child gets plenty of quiet personal time for photos and autographs with the Characters. If I were to choose a few of our very favorites to recommend to you, they would be:
1900 Park Fare: Mary Poppins, Alice in Wonderland, Winnie the Pooh and Friends. The Characters are charming and the food is absolutely to die for!
Chef Mickey's: No trip is complete without a few minutes with Mickey, Minnie and Friends. This is one of the most popular Character Meal so be sure to book Advanced Dining Reservations before you come.
The Crystal Palace: Winnie the Pooh and Friends are a draw here as is the scrumptious food. But for me, the location (right off Main Street U.S.A. and in the shadows of Cinderella's Castle) puts it towards the very top of our list of must-do's whenever we visit Walt Disney World.

Have a magical day!
