Headed to Disney next week and my 8 year old daughter wants to try escargot! Is their anywhere in Epcot (France) I can order them without having to use a table service at one of the 2 restaurants?

    Hi Lauren,

I love an adventurous eater! Both my daughters always had adult tastes in food, and I attribute that in large part to how much time they spent at Epcot as children. That's where they each had their first tastes of escargot and many other exotic flavors.

A tasting portion of escargot is always on the menu at the France marketplace during the Epcot International Food and Wine Festival in the fall. During the rest of the year, the only place I know where you can get the delicacy is at Chefs de France or Monsieur Paul.

If you don't want to have a whole meal at one of those -- and use your dining credits there -- I suggest you and your daughter stop in Chefs de France mid-afternoon just for the appetizer of escargot. Even if you don't have a reservation, you likely will be able to find a table for two. You can pay out of pocket for the appetizer (which is less than $15) and create a special mother-daughter memory.

Thanks for stopping by the Disney Parks Moms Panel, Lauren. Please let us know if we can answer any other questions for you as you make your final plans. And tell your daughter that I hope she finds lots of new tastes to sample on your Walt Disney World vacation. Enjoy!
