Hi Lindsay! Welcome to planDisney. I am so excited to hear you're planning your first visit to the Walt Disney World Resort!
I think you're talking about dining and experience reservations, and you'll be able to make those using your
My Disney Experience account. If you haven't set that up already, visit any Walt Disney World Resort webpage and click on "Sign In or Create Account." Then, follow the steps to create your account. You, along with each member of your party, will need to link your theme park tickets to your My Disney Experience profile. Once your account is set up, you'll be able to hover over "My Disney Experience" on any Walt Disney World webpage and click "My Plans" to see everything you have planned.
To make your dining reservations, visit the
Dining Reservations webpage. Enter the date and time you're looking to dine, along with your party size, to see which restaurants are available for Table-Service dining. If you're looking for recommendations, our "
What Would I Order" Panel Extra includes recommendations for dining throughout Walt Disney World Resort. If there's a restaurant you really want to enjoy during your vacation, I recommend checking for reservations using the My Disney Experience mobile app as you get closer to your arrival date, as sometimes Guests change plans and reservations open up.
You won't need reservations for Quick-Service dining, and I like to plan one Table-Service meal per day and then enjoy Quick-Service dining and snacking throughout the day.
Mobile Order is a convenient and easy service where you can order your meal for many Quick-Service dining locations in the My Disney Experience mobile app.
As for other reservations, there are only some experiences that require reservations, so I suggest talking to your traveling group about what they'd like to do. The
Enchanting Extras Collection webpage lists a few experiences that require reservations, such as tours, fireworks dessert parties, and horseback riding. You will need to call the number listed on the experience's webpage to make those reservations in most cases.
Since you were placed in charge of reservations, I just want to be 100% sure that your in-laws didn't mean Theme Park Reservations? As part of the phased reopening of the Walt Disney World Resort, Theme Park Reservations are required for each day you visit a theme park, so be sure to take a look at the video on the
Disney Park Pass System webpage and make those reservations if you haven't already.
Since you noted you're staying at Shades of Green, I would like to thank you for your family's service. I recently shared some
tips for military members visiting Walt Disney World with the Disney Parks Blog, and I hope they help as you make your plans. The Disney Parks Blog is a fantastic source of news and planning tips, and I read their posts every day so I can add snacks and experiences to my "Must Do Disney" list.
Lindsay, I hope this helps you understand the great big world of Walt Disney World Resort reservations. I'm so glad you stopped by today, and please don't hesitate to come back with any further questions.
Wishing you much magic,
Robyn
