We are headed to Disney in April and previously went with my father in law. He bought our tickets/magic bands so they are linked to his account. Is there a way to still use our magic bands but Link them to our account this time since we booked this trip

Hey howdy hey, Kendyl, and welcome to planDisney! I'm so glad you've reached out to us with this question today. You must be thrilled to start planning your next Walt Disney World Resort vacation! Even though the members of your party will be different during your next visit, there are some options you have that might be helpful to you as you make your plans.

It sounds like your Father-in-Law managed your Theme Park Tickets and MagicBands in his own My Disney Experience Account. If you haven't yet, you can create your own My Disney Experience Account so you can manage your party’s plans. Then, you and your Father-in-Law will need to take the following steps:

    1. In his Family & Friends list, click "Update" next to Kendyl.
    2. Click "Share Planning with Kendyl" which appears in the upper right corner of the Update Information box.
    3. Enter the email address you used when you created your My Disney Experience account, then click "Continue."
    4. Once you accept the email invitation to connect, previously linked MagicBands should automatically link to your account.

If you have any issues connecting your account or viewing your MagicBands, please reach out to a helpful Cast Member. Kendyl, I want to let you know that MagicBand batteries typically last up to two years, so if it has been a while since your last Disney vacation, you might want to consider bringing your current MagicBands and testing them out when you arrive. If they no longer work, you can purchase a new one throughout Walt Disney World Resort. Happily, you will still be able to access your Theme Park Tickets with Disney MagicMobile Service, a helpful feature of the My Disney Experience App that lets you save your tickets to your mobile wallet.

Now is a great time to familiarize yourself with the My Disney Experience Mobile App. It's my go-to resource when I'm planning my Walt Disney World Resort vacations, as well as when I'm on-the-go in the parks and at my Disney Resort Hotel. It can help you unlock your Disney Resort Hotel room, place a Mobile Food & Beverage Order at a Quick-Service Restaurant, see wait times at your favorite attractions, get walking directions to nearby destinations, and it helps me plan your ideal day with Disney Genie and Genie+ Service.

Kendyl, I hope this information has been helpful to you! Please stop back by planDisney anytime while you're planning your vacation. We're here and happy to help!

    See you real soon!
