I am headed to Disney in April. I've only been once, and this will be the first trip for my 3 year old son. We will be there for 8 days, with 7-day hopper passes and 1 day at SeaWorld. What suggestions do you have for things to do/attractions at each park?

    Hi Debbie:

I'm a parent of two boys, ages 5 and 3, and I would love to share some of my family's must-dos for our Disney World vacations.

Among many other things: at the Magic Kingdom, we always ride the Jungle Cruise, Peter Pan's Flight, Mickey's PhilharMagic, The Haunted Mansion, and it's a small world. At Epcot, we take in Spaceship Earth, Living with the Land, Soarin', and tour the countries of World Showcase. Highlights of World Showcase are the Kidcot Fun Stops, which are craft stations where your son can draw and color while learning about different cultures as he interacts with Cast Members from around the world. Our must-dos at Hollywood Studios include Toy Story Mania and Muppet Vision 3-D. At Animal Kingdom, our family always rides the Kilimanjaro Safari and hops aboard the Wildlife Express Train and visits Rafiki's Planet Watch area, Affection Section, and Conservation Station. We also always stop by The Boneyard, a dinosaur-themed playground.  Check out the Magical Beginnings guide for tips and locations of rides and attractions suitable for kids five and under at all four Disney World theme parks.

As you enter the parks, pick up a Times Guide for parades and show schedules throughout the day. Since it's a first visit for your son, check in at City Hall at the Magic Kingdom, or at guest relations at other parks, and pick up a "first-visit" button. Many Cast Members will go out of their way to greet your son with a kind gesture.

My best advice is to relax, follow your son's pace, and enjoy.
