Aloha, Emily!
Or, I should say "Mele Kalikimaka" which is the Hawaiian way to say "Merry Christmas!" What can I say except you're welcome here at planDisney. Thanks for jingling all the way here with your question. While I haven't yet been to Hawaii during the holidays, I have been to Hawaii many times and to Aulani three times, including most recently in August. You are going to love
Aulani, A Disney Resort & Spa, as when the magic of Disney and spirit of Aloha come together, it's a very special vacation any time of year.
Emily, I just spoke with the Front Desk at Aulani, and while they noted that from mid-November to the end of December the Resort is decked to the halls in holiday dressings, they do not have specific information if the
Characters will be in holiday attire. Mickey, Minnie, and the gang may be in relaxation mode, donning their typical Aloha shirts and dress or they could be in their best holiday wear. But rest assured that you will feel the season with the decor on property, and you will certainly feel the spirit of Aloha and the holidays while you are there.
I wish I had more information for you at this time, but I hope this helps a bit.
But I do have a fun tip for you, Emily! If you are looking for a delicious treat outside of the typical holiday cookies, be sure and grab a box of Honolulu Cookie Co. cookies available in
Kalepa's Store - the Resort gift shop located near the lobby. These are my family's absolute favorite treats when visiting Hawaii and they are well known throughout the islands. They are a buttery short-bread style cookie shaped like a pineapple and trust me, you'll be hooked once you taste one. The macadamia nut ones dipped in chocolate or the chocolate-dipped coconut ones are delicious, plus they come in beautiful assortments and boxes. They make a great souvenir or holiday gift to take back home to family and friends.
I wish you the merriest vacation on earth in one of the most beautiful places on earth. I hope the pixie dust of Aulani makes your season bright.
A Hui Hou (it means "until we meet again" in Hawaiian,)
