We head to the MK in 22 days! We will have 2 strollers and tons of baby gear in tow so I'm thinking we should avoid the shuttles/trams and just self park and walk to gate. Howmuch time should we plan to get from parking to the main gate on foot?

Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel Fonda!

Your trip is just around the corner and I bet you're too excited to sleep already!  I've never been a light traveler and we've always had tons of gear in tow with us so I completely understand your plight.

The parking lot at the Magic Kingdom is - in a word - HUGE.  So to answer your question, its all going to depend on where you park within the lot.  I'd recommend getting there early.  At least 45 minutes (if not earlier) prior to park opening.   The earlier you get there, the closer to the front of the parking lot you'll be and the less time you'll spend walking from the parking lot to the Transportation and Ticket Center (TTC).  If you park all the way in the back of the lot, you could spend 25 minutes or so just walking to TTC.  I'm normally a pretty fast walker but pushing two loaded down strollers can slow you down.

Keep in mind, you'll also have to walk that distance back to your car at the end of your pixie dusted filled day.  While that few extra minutes of sleep may sound good that morning, if you plan on walking, you may really be happy that you didn't hit the snooze button.

From TTC, you'll have the option of taking the Monorail or Ferry Boat over to the Magic Kingdom.  Both take about the same amount of time and we usually take one over and the other one back.  You will not have to fold your strollers on either one so both are very convenient.

Please feel free to visit us with any other questions.  We're hEAR for you!

Wishing you minnie magical memories :-) Allison V.
