Hello, we head to Disney in 8 days! Family of 5 plus 2 grandparents. I am prone to motion sickness and worried I won’t be able to do many rides. Also my parents may not due to their ages. We all have fast passes. Should I just keep the passes?

Hello, Suzanne! I'm so excited that you'll be visiting The Most Magical Place on Earth in time for the holidays! You're in for a treat!

I am the type of person whose stomach turns the moment I even see a "spinny ride," so I can certainly relate to your situation. I have a few tips that have worked for me, and I'll give you a list of attractions to be cautious of (yep, Mad Tea Party, you know you're on my list)! My touring bag always contains motion sickness medicine (I prefer Dramamine), and I take it before I even get to the Parks. I also carry ibuprofen, peppermints or gum, and ginger pills (I get these from my local health food store). These remedies don't always make the motion sickness go away, but they can ease your stomach a bit.  Some people swear by Sea-Bands, but I think "the jury is still out on them."

When planning my FastPass+ attractions, there are a few rides I avoid altogether, including the aforementioned Mad Tea Party, Star Tours – The Adventures Continue, The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror, and Mission: SPACE Orange (this one is a real doozy for me because it uses a centrifuge that spins and tilts).

Then are a few attractions that are on my "Proceed with Caution" list. These are rides that I look forward to experiencing, but I can only do once before needing a break (and maybe a Dole Whip with rum).
    *Space Mountain
*Astro Orbiter (avoid if you have a fear of heights).
*Soarin' Around the World (this one actually doesn't affect me, but it does for some).
*Rock 'n' Roller Coaster (I love this ride, but it's definitely a one and done for me that day).
    *Expedition Everest
*Avatar Flight of Passage (this one is "not to be missed," but it does make me a little queasy).
*Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run (depends on how good your pilots are).

I hope this helps, Suzanne! There are plenty of attractions you can your parents can enjoy while you're there, but if you need any more advice, remember we're all ears!

Meet the Panelist: Eean, Pennsylvania

Hi, I'm Eean from Pennsylvania!  I may have an unusual name, but my passion for Disney is not unique.  It’s amazing how many people you can find who love talking about, "The Most Magical Place On Earth!"  I'm that mom who always has her ears perked at PTO meetings, in the grocery store aisle, or at middle school basketball games waiting for an opportunity to give someone a planning tip to help make their vacation even more magical.
