Hello, we are having our wedding and reception at Disney next year and I wanted to know if we could select our own music to play at the pre-reception and reception? We have some instrumental songs (no words) that my future hubby wrote and would like played

    Hi Amber!

Welcome to planDisney, Amber! Thanks for stopping by to talk about your big celebration next year. My husband and I chose to get married at a Walt Disney World location, and we could not have been happier with our choice. Celebrating such an important milestone with our friends and family at one of our favourite places in the world really was everything we hoped it would be.

For any wedding, music is such an important part of the day. It really helps to set the tone for the celebration, and how special that you are thinking of including music your husband wrote himself! Rules around music can vary depending on the ceremony and reception locations you choose. Generally, locations that allow amplified music may also allow you to send your music files in advance for the audio technician Cast Members to play during your event. A top tip is to bring a backup copy with you on the day, just in case!

There are many details to think about as you plan your special day, and your Disney Fairytale Weddings team will be there to guide you through each step. I recommend reaching out to them with your specific question, as they will be able to give the most accurate guidance based on your ceremony location and plans so far. The Disney Fairytale Weddings website also has the brilliant Ever After Blog, which is great for visualising the many ways you can personalise your celebration. We also found it really helpful to follow the Disney Fairytale Weddings & Honeymoons Facebook page, which regularly shares inspiration and real wedding moments from other couples.

I hope this helps answer your question today, Amber. Planning a wedding can feel like a big task, but try to enjoy the planning stage as much as the big day itself! If you have any further questions, please reach out to me. I'd love to help.

Reach out and find your happily ever after,
    Matt
