Having visited Walt Disney World so many times over the years we have accumulated a large number of the refillable mugs. We are going again soon and I just wondered is it possible to get an old mug recharged so it worked on the next trip

    Hiya Preston!

Thank you so much for stopping by planDisney again. I am so happy to see you back, especially with a question about those iconic refillable mugs. I bet you are more than ready to trade the Garden State Parkway for a trolley ride down Main Street with a Mickey-shaped treat in hand.

Let’s jump right into your question. Since you are asking about refillable mugs, it sounds like you will be staying at a Disney Resort. Resort refillable mugs are such a fun and practical souvenir, but they are only valid for the length of your stay, up to 14 days. Each mug has its own little bit of Disney magic built in with an RFID chip, and once your stay is over, it cannot be reactivated. Think of it as a happily-ever-after that lasts just for your vacation.

The good news is, there are always new mug designs to choose from, so you can pick one that feels like it was made just for you. It is the perfect excuse to add another magical souvenir to your collection.

Since you will be visiting in May, I also recommend packing sunscreen and a poncho. The Florida sunshine can be strong, and those quick rain showers like to pop up out of nowhere, so just be sure you are prepared for Tia Pepa’s mood affecting the weather.

Preston, I hope this helps answer your question, even if it may not be the answer you were hoping for.  If you have any more questions, feel free to stop by again.

    See you real soon,

    Christina
